Janakpurdham, Feb 26 : Chief Minister of State 2, Lalbabu Raut, has said the late Mahendra Narayan Nidhi is a democracy icon. CM Raut said it during a programme organized by Nepali Congress Danusha district committee here in memory of the late Gandhian leader Mahendra Narayan Nidhi on Tuesday.    
    
The programme was organized on the 98th birth anniversary of the late leader Nidhi. "The late Nidhi will be remembered forever for his role on Nepal's democratic movements," CM Raut observed, adding that the thoughts and philosophy he had towards democracy made him a democracy icon.    
    
"Once we are able to follow the thoughts on and commitment to democracy the late Nidhi had, it helps build social justice," he stressed. According to the CM, one among those committed to Madhes development was the late Nidhi.    
    
On a different note, Raut warned those against the State 2 government that their dream to change State 2 government would not materialize.    
    
At the programme presided over by district chair of Nepali Congress, Mahesh Shankar Giri, Nepali Congress leaders including central member Mahendra Yadav and former minister Ramkrishna Yadav, among others spoke on the life of Mahendra Narayan Nidhi.
