Damauli, July 9 : Lifeless body of a man who went missing in the landslide in Rishing rural municipality of Tanahun was recovered after 11 hours. Khum Bahadur Thapa, 40, of Rishing-8, Majhkot went disappeared after being buried in the landslide debris at 5.00 am Thursday. 

   
Chairperson of Nepal Red Cross Society, Kotdurbar sub-branch, Indra Bahadur Ale confirmed that the dead body of Thapa was recovered following 11 hours of his disappearance. Nepal Police and locals had intensified the search of the missing but it was tough due to massive scale of landslide.    


Likewise, Devisara Thapa, 52, of Rishing-7, Dadhiban died after being buried in the landslide on Thursday. Her body was also recovered on Thursday afternoon.    


Similarly, the status of Maita Bahadur Nepali of Myagde-4, who went missing in a rivulet has not yet been established, police said.    
Floods render 72 households displaced    


Floods and landslides have rendered 72 households of Bandipur rural municipality displaced. At least 48 households of the same ward have been displaced.    


The displaced households are of Bandipur-2, Khahare, Dharapani-3, ward-3, Ramkot and ward-5, Kalchowk. Floods have completely damaged 13 houses in Khahare and partially damaged nine houses while 26 houses are still at high risk, shared rural municipality vice-chair, Karuna Gurung.   

 
According to her, 12 households are reeling under high risk in Dharapani, seven houses in Ramkot and five houses in Kalchowk.

The displaced family members have been forced to take shelter in the buildings of agriculture center and Khahare mothers’ group.    


Meanwhile, preparation is underway to place Hume pipe in the Chhabdii rivulet linking Byas municipality-1 and 13 to immediately ease the mobility.

The municipality made the preparation to install Hume pipe after the flood occurred on Wednesday took away the bridge.
