Kavre traffic fine 2,350 vehicles in lockdown

By Our Correspondent, Kavre, July 5: The Kavre District Traffic Police Office has impounded over 2,000 vehicles in 100 days of the lockdown period.

District Traffic Police Chief, Bishal Tamang said in 100 days of the lockdown, 2,350 vehicles were put on hold for three hours for defying the lockdown.

Among them, 1,368 were motorcycles, 947 trucks, 31 cars and vans and four buses.

The traffic police also collected hefty fines from the seized vehicles. From the traffic action, the office had collected Rs. 2.04 million as revenue, said Tamang.

Of the total collected revenue, Rs. 886,000 fine was collected from the trucks and other heavy vehicles, Rs. 1,099,000 from motorcycles, Rs. 16,500 from cars and vans and Rs. 2,500 from buses.  

The Kavre traffic police had collected the highest amount of revenues during the month of Jestha by taking action against 1,097 vehicles.
