Bhanu Zoological Garden in Tanahun: DPR in the making

Tanahun, Jan 6 : The Bhanu Zoological Garden to be set up in 425 hectares of some parts of Vyas and Bhanu municipalities in Tanahun district is likely to directly affect at total of 126 households. So far, 912 ropani land in the affected area is acquired while the detailed project report (DPR) is being prepared with Rs 20 million allocated, officials said.    
    
Chief of the zoological garden, Birendra Prasad Kandel, said that all the affected households have lodged their applications claiming the compensation.    
     
With priority from the federal government, Rs 42.2 million is allocated for road constructions and fencing along its territory, Rs 2.5 million for construction of sightseeing centre, Rs 5 million for officials' residence construction and Rs 16 million for the office buildings development. In the current fiscal year, the federal government has allocated Rs 90 million to the zoological garden for the development construction and administrative operations, Kandel shared. And, the main office building is being built under the multi-year programme.    
    
According to the officials, the process for the land acquisition has also been forwarded for the purpose of compensation management under a committee chaired by the Chief District Officer.    
    
The government had begun the process to set up zoological parks in all seven provinces aiming to promote tourism through conservation and management of the natural resources.
