By Krishna Tiwari, Rautahat, Nov. 12: A married woman was shot dead in Rautahat on Wednesday night.
Amrita Kumari Sah, 18, daughter of Ram Ayodhya Sah of Loukaha Tol in Madhav Narayan Municipality-7 of the district has been shot dead by an unidentified group.
Amrita, who was sleeping at home, was shot at the side of her head by an unidentified group at around 11 pm on Wednesday night, according to police.
The bullet killed Amrita on the spot, said Bharat Shrestha, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Rautahat.
According to the District Police Office, Rautahat, it has yet to be ascertained the murderer.
The police said they were investigating further into the murder case.
Love affair may have been the cause of murder, according to the preliminary speculation of the police.
The girl was married to Rupesh Sah of Madhuvangoth village in Sarlahi in February, 2020, but even after the marriage, the girl had an illicit love affair with another man.
Because of which, she divorced from her husband in June, and had been living at her maternal home, Loukaha.
Indra Dev Yadav, Chief District Officer (CDO) said that the people involved in the murder of the girl had been identified and a search was underway as suspects are absconding.
