By Amar Raj Naharki, Tanahun, Mar. 6: A donation-dependent and publicly-owned campus run by its community members in Tanahun has been able to secure its place as the country’s finest education institution.

Located at Bhadgaon of Vyas Municipality Ward No. 1, Damauli, Aadikavi Bhanubhakta Campus’s students have been consistently passing out with flying colours, which has been a primary reason for the institution’s success over the last few years.

In a recently released fourth-semester exam result of the Master of Business Studies (MBS), the campus recorded a 100 percent passing rate. “Last year as well, the campus secured top position in MBS in campus rankings. It was also announced as the second-best community college.

Likewise, it came in third in terms of BBS level, and was enlisted among the three finest institutions for Media and Communication,” informed Campus Chief Maha Prasad Hadkhale. Despite producing results better than government colleges, the local authorities have remained indifferent to the plights of community campuses, claims Hadkhale. “Our grievances, our needs are rarely addressed.

We should all be appreciative of the role community colleges have been playing,” he explained. As of now, there are over 2,000 students currently enrolled at the campus. According to the campus administration, the number of students increases by 500 every year.

With the institution gaining more and more prominence, Kalpana Lamsal, Assistant Campus Chief estimates the incoming number of students to go well over 1,000 come admission season.

As per Brahmadutta Timilsina, chairperson of the Campus Operations Committee, compulsory attendance, daily feedbacks, routinely conducted exams, and timely published results are the chief contributors to the institution’s success.

“We reward and recognise outstanding achievements, ensure proper nutritional diets of our students and give a timely report to parents regarding their children’s performance,” he elaborated. Established on September 3, 1987, the campus has been catering to indigenous and marginalised communities since its inception
