Work efficiently, DPM Pokhrel tells CCMC officials

Kathmandu, Apr. 4: Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokhrel, who also leads the high-level coordination committee constituted to prevent and control COVID-19, Friday visited the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) at Chhauni to acquire information about the progress made by the centre.
The government has established the CCMC in order to develop information system, human resources and other resources to combat the COVID-19 induced crisis. The center was set up as per a Cabinet meeting of March 29.
During the visit, the centre informed DPM Pokhrel about the preparations made by the centre to combat the COVID-19.
The centre, through a presentation, updated DPM Pokhrel about the preventive and treatment measures it had taken to fight against the deadliest disease.
The centre had also briefed the DPM about its plan to provide health and treatment facilities to the suspected and infected people, ensuring peace and security and development of required information system and other technologies.
The centre further informed him how the center was working to identify the medical equipment and medicines needed for the treatment of COVID-19 and their procurement.
Representatives of the centre also informed DPM Pokhrel about their plans to further strengthen the security during the lockdown, ease the supply of essential goods and make the relief distribution more effective.
Following the presentation, DPM Pokhrel directed all the members of the centre and all concerned authorities to work efficiently and responsibly to control, prevent and tackle COVID-19 crisis in Nepal.
The visit was attended by the Chief of Nepal Army, Coordinator of CCMC and Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Laxman Aryal and other officials, including those from the Nepali Army.
The centre included officials of the Ministry of Health and the Nepal Army. The centre will function under the high-level committee led by DPM Pokhrel.
