By TRN Online, Kathmandu, April  7:  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the upcoming two weeks are likely to be more challenging for Nepal with regard to prevent and control of the novel coronavirus as there is risk of surfacing of the symptoms of the infections and the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. 

In his address to the nation today, PM Oli urged Nepalis to comply with lockdown orders and observe quarantine rules more strictly for their health safety in the next two weeks.

He stated that Nepal was in high risk to be affected by the virus.

The PM appealed to Nepalis staying in and outside the country to stay safe amid the global crisis of the COVID-19.

"Although the lives are getting difficult due to the lockdown, it is important to have patience and help the government in containing the virus by staying in," he said.

Likewise, PM Oli said that the doctors and health workers striving on the frontline to contain the virus were the soldiers of the war against an invisible enemy. "We all should support and encourage the front line health workers," he said.

Lockdown is the only way to check the spread of the virus in today's scenario where the entire globe is researching on vaccine to contain the virus, the PM added.

PM Oli has urged everyone to patiently support the government by following the lockdown.

"The effort put up by the front line health workers despite limited resources and equipments is notable," said the PM.

The PM also said that the importance of local level government and representatives was also reflected by the ongoing crisis. 

Also, PM Oli expressed his worry over the difficulties faced by daily wage earners due to the lockdown.

Wishing speedy recovery of those who have been battling with the virus, PM Oli extended condolence to families of those who lost their lives worldwide including Nepalis abroad to COVID-19.
