Biratnagar, Oct. 26: Chairman of Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said on Friday that the party unification tasks would complete if he and another chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli sat for four hours.
Speaking at a greeting exchange and party cadres’ training programme in Biratnagar, Prachanda said that all works relating to party unification would be over on a single day.
“The unification process that should have completed in three months has taken 17 months,” he said, adding that the remaining unification would be over after doing homework of a few hours.
He said the unification process was delayed due to short meetings and group interests.
Prachanda further said that Nepal became a land-linked country from a landlocked one following the latest understanding and closeness of Nepal with both India and China.
He said Nepal’s relations with both India and China had reached new heights.
“The laying down and operation of petroleum pipeline between Nepal and India is important not only from the commercial as well business points of view. The pipeline has reflected deepening relations between the two nations,” he said.
He said that Nepal had entered a new era following the Chinese President’s state visit to Nepal and the agreements signed between the two countries.
Prachanda further said both chairmen of the NCP were committed to maintaining discipline in the party and good governance in the country. He said the government would gradually fulfil the expectations of the people.
In a different context, Prachanda said he was not a genuine Maoist and compared him with late Madan Bhandari.
Addressing the same function, Acting Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel said that Nepal would not bear the brunt of blockade from any other country in the days to come.
Fear of blockade has been over for ever after Nepal became a land-linked country from a landlocked country, Pokharel said.
“Now, the situation of ‘single country-locked’ has been over,” he said adding that the government had already engaged in building development infrastructure.
He said the government had moved ahead to implement the programmes of good governance and prosperity after completing the first base year.
Stating that no one is above the law, Pokharel said that the government would not look at the position and face of any individual while maintaining good governance.
He said the party would be pushed ahead on the basis of need, but not on the basis of the thought of a particular leader.
