Security was effective during Chinese President’s visit: Home Minister

Kathmandu, Oct 14: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa on Monday thanked security bodies for ensuring effective security during the two-day state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Nepal.
During a meeting with security officials in his office today, the Home Minister said that the security action plan prepared and enforced for the visit was effective and it send a good message about country's security to the world community.
Stating that security personnel dealt with the assigned responsibilities in a very good way, he commented the visit was successful due to contributions of security personnel who had their roles in formulating the security policy to guarding the street.
The Home Minister apprised the meeting that the Chinese side praised Nepal for its security arrangements in course of the visit.
Stating that Nepal was committed to one-China policy, he directed representatives of security bodies to remain alert so as to avert any sort of anti-China activities in Nepali territory.
He said the Chinese President's visit was a historic one and it would be proved a milestone in Nepal's economic, social and cultural development.
In the meeting, Home Secretary Prem Kumar Rai also thanked security personnel for successful security arrangements, adding this experience would be helpful in the days to come.
Inspector General of Armed Police Force, Shailendra Khanal; Chief of National Investigation Department, Ganesh Adhikari; Officiating Inspector General of Nepal Police, Pushkar Kari and Major General of Nepal Army, Shashi Chandra Bahadur Singh were among those present in the meeting.
