Second dose of COVID-19 shots planned from Apr 20

Kathmandu, Mar. 18: The Ministry of Health and Population has planned to inoculate the second dose of vaccine against COVID-19 from April 20-24.
The second dose will be provided to those who were inoculated in the first phase of campaign started from January 27-February 22, said Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson at MoHP.
Meanwhile, the second phase of nationwide vaccination campaign against COVID-19 concluded on Tuesday. More than 1,150,000 senior citizens throughout the nation were inoculated within ten days of the vaccination campaign, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
The government had targeted to vaccinate 1,782,469 senior citizens through around 6,000 vaccination centres set up across the country.
Earlier in late January to February, the government conducted first phase of the vaccination drive. During the first phase of the campaign, the government targeted to vaccinate 507,606 frontline workers and others. Of this 438,879 were vaccinated. This amounts to 86 per cent achievement of the target population.
