By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 10: The Supreme Court (SC) has decided that that its normal hearings and proceedings will be suspended as long as the lockdown is extended and that these functions will resume three days after the government lifts the lockdown.

The governent has extended nationwide lockdown till April 15.

Issuing a press statement on Friday, the SC informed that it would further suspend its functions if the government extends the lockdown again.

"A full meeting held today decided that the normal court hearings and proceedings will resume three days after the government lifts the lockdown, depending upon the contingencies of the scenario then," read the press release.

Meanwhile, other essential proceedings such as registration of writ application, issuance of arrest warrant, registration of application as to payment of money in lieu of imprisonment, registration of charge sheets, deposition of statement of parties to the case, bail hearing, application to appeal hearing authorities and other proceedings vital to protect the fundamental rights of the general public and arrestees will continue amid the lockdown.
