Kathmandu, Jan. 2: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government was preparing to bring the COVID-19 vaccines in the country before receiving them from World Health Organisation (WHO).
Responding to the queries of children about the closure of schools and vaccines at the ‘Prime Minister with Children’ programme organised by Nepal Scouts on Friday, Prime Minister Oli said that schools were closed for the protection of children and their health, as protecting them is the government’s priority.
Every New Year’s Day, Nepal Scout gives Scout children a chance to meet the Prime Minister, ask him questions and express their feelings. This year, too, the children reached the Baluwatar residence of the Prime Minister with questions on the New Year Day today.
One of the children asked, “Prime Minister, who are we children for you?” He responded, “You are like the apple of my eye. Heartbeat, my dear children, future captain.”
When asked about children and politics, the Prime Minister said that children should not involve in politics directly but should not misunderstand politics as an occupation of liars and dishonest persons. He also assured that he would fight against the dirty politics in which the party activists fight for their personal interests and bring instability in the country.
Prime Minister Oli said that the protection of people’s life was the priority of his government. He also asked the children not to be influenced by dirty politics but to understand politics as an area of serving the people. “We are moving forward with the concept of Digital Nepal and the ongoing virtual classes are also part of the digital world,” he said.
Referring to the fact that there is no consensus in politics and in all spheres, PM Oli said that those who oppose him were protesting without understanding, some were protesting for the sake of protest and others were protesting because they belong to another party.
He said, “Prosperity alone is not enough for human beings. Happiness is not possible if there is fear and insecurity. Peace and security should be guaranteed in society.” He expressed his national determination of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ to give a happy and fearless life to everyone.
When asked about the government efforts to prevent crime such as rape and acid attacks, PM Oli said that children are the future of the world and that society has given respect and importance to women, and the government had formulated strict laws regarding the acid attacks, and criminals would be punished for their brutal crime, he said
Prime Minister Oli also urged the children not to be indifferent to the future of the country, to be happy with the progress of others, to speak kindly to all and to move forward with good deeds.
