Power supply glitch to industrial area to be resolved soon: Ghising

Biratnagar, Oct. 18: Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Electricity Authority Kulman Ghising said on Friday that the power supply problem seen in the industrial area would be resolved soon.

Speaking at an interaction organised here, Ghising said the industrialists and businessmen would not face any shortage of power supply in the days to come.

He informed that the three sub stations of 63 MVA of Dubahi Sub would be upgraded to 103 MVA to solve the problem of power supply in the Sunsari-Morang Industrial Corridor.

He also said that new transmission lines would be added and grid capacity would be strengthened address the power supply problem in State 1.

Ghising said the management of the NEA had given priority to good governance within the organisation.

“If any staff member intends to harass anyone, he will face action,” he said.

He said the NEA would immediately take action against its staff members if any industrialist lodged complaints against them stating that they were harassed by NEA employees.

He urged local business community not to play with the NEA staff member to enjoy unlawful gain, and if any businessman was found indulged in such activity, he would also face action.

Ghising informed that there was possibility of revision in the electricity tariff next year as from next year power supply would be in surplus.

Morang Trade Association former chair Pawan Kumar Shaarda, Industry Organisation former chair Ashok Murarka, Morang Trade Association senior vice-president Nabin Rijal urged Ghising to resolve power supply problems.
