Kathmandu, Jan. 24: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli met with former commanders of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) on Saturday. The former commanders of PLA met the Prime Minister at his official residence in Baluwatar.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli praised the contribution and sacrifices made by the former commanders of the People’s War, said Prime Minister’s Press Advisor Surya Thapa. “We respect your contributions, sacrifices and the dream of revolution during the People’s War,” the PM said.
At the meeting, former commanders shared their problems. They also expressed their disappointment that the then leadership had disregarded their sentiments.
The former commanders have also asked the government to address their issues, as they were in misery.
Admitting that the then leadership had abused the sentiments of the former PLA commanders, PM Oli said, “The conclusion you have reached after understanding the fact is absolutely correct.”
At the discussion, Prime Minister Oli said that the government would actually address the problems of the former commanders, said Press Advisor Thapa.
“Be assured, we will solve the problem politically,” said PM Oli, adding, “You will not be deceived by the leadership as you have been in the past.”
