By Santosh Subedi, Siraha, Sept. 16: As many as 259 inmates of Siraha prison were confirmed to have been infected with the novel coronavirus on Wednesday.
Amdeshor Chaudhari, COVID-19 focal person of Siraha District Health Office, informed that infection was found in 259 inmates out of 269 whose swab report came out today from Provincial Laboratory Janakpurdham.
With this, total number of jailbirds infected with COVID-19 in Siraha prison has reached 507.
There are 597 detainees in the Siraha district prison.
