NCP to pick poll candidates today today

Kathmandu, Nov. 3: The secretariat meeting of Ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) held on Saturday started discussion on finalising party candidates for the upcoming by-election to be held on November 30.
The NCP secretariat meeting was held at Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official residence at Baluwatar.
The meeting has started discussion on the recommendation of lower committees on selecting the candidates of party for the November 30the by-election, said Narayan Kaji Shrestha, spokesperson of NCP.
The meeting could not take any call on the names of the candidates due to lack of time, Shrestha said. The meeting will be held tomorrow to make final call on the by-election candidates.
The November 30 by-election will be held at 52 places at federal, state and local levels.
Shrestha said that Prime Minister and Party Chairmen KP Sharma Oli also briefed about his health condition in the secretariat meeting.
Quoting Prime Minister Oli, Shrestha said that his health was not as bad as reported in media.
“I was not seriously ill though I had gone under treatment at a hospital. Doctors are conducting check up and some reports on my health will come out. The further process of treatment will depend on the report of the medical investigation,” the PM said.
The PM had undergone hemodialysis on Wednesday and Thursday at Grande International Hospital.
Some two months ago, the PM had undergone plasmapheresis process in Singapore for removing excess of antibodies in his blood.
The PM had undergone kidney transplant some 12 years ago.
