NCP Chairman Prachanda holds talks with PM Oli and senior leader Nepal

By Lucky Chaudhari, Kathmandu, Oct. 12: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Monday held discussions separately with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, also NCP Chairman, and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal in the wake of registration of no confidence against Karnali State Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi on Sunday at the Karnali State Assembly so as to remove CM Shahi from the leader of the State Assembly and thus from the CM.

In his meeting with another NCP Chairman, Oli, also Prime Minister, Chairman Prachanda urged PM Oli to stop the no confidence motion as it had erupted suddenly and was against the spirit of the party when discussions in the party were going on about reshuffling of the Cabinet in the federal government, according to Chairman Prachanda's secretariat.

Chairman Prachanda told the Prime Minister that it was against the party to come up suddenly with no confidence motion while discussions were underway in the party as per the mandate and responsibility given by the Standing Committee, said Chairman Prachanda's press aide Bishnu Sapkota.

CM Shahi was a leader of the then CPN-Maoist Center before the party got unified with the then CPN-UML to form the NCP.

Leader Nepal's personal secretary Mohan Gautam confirmed that discussions were held between Chairman Prachanda and leader Nepal at Khumaltar, but did not divulge any details of the talks.

Chairman Prachanda also urged leader Nepal to stop the no confidence motion, according to Prachanda's secretariat.
