By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 22: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed 20 new cases of COVID-19.
14 men from Banke, three from Kailali and one each from Dadeldhura, Morang and Baitadi tested COVID-19 positive, informed Dr Bikash Devkota, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.
Three men aged 19, 22 and 26 of Kailali, who were placed in quarantine at Saraswati Secondary School in Janaki Municipality and a 22-year old male of Shivanath-1, Baitadi tested positive for the virus in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test done at Seti Provincial Hospital.
Likewise, 14 men belonging to age group from 18 to 61 of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality and Narainapur, Banke tested COVID-19 positive in PCR test done at Bheri Hospital.
A 28-year old male of Parsuram-10, Dadheldhura and 41-year old male of Rasuwamai-2, Morang were also identified with COVID-19 infection.
With this, the national COVID-19 tally has reached 507 including three cases of death and 70 cases of recovery. The remaining patients are receiving treatment in various hospitals nationwide. The virus has spread in 40 out of 77 districts in the country.
