Kathmandu, Sept. 27: Nepal has broken its own record of hosting a fashion show at the highest altitude.
The ‘fashion show’ was held at the Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5,500 meters on Thursday with the aim of drawing the world’s attention to the conservation of mountainous areas and biodiversity.
The show was attended by Princess of the Netherlands and the Prince of Italy.

The Prince of Tuscany, Cosimo de Medicil, also walked wearing Kasa design and the Buddhist line.
This is the first time in history that an Italian Prince walked on a ramp in Nepal wearing ‘Made in Nepal’ and promoting ‘Made in Nepal’.
On September 23, a team of 47 people were present to witness the rare fashion show held Gokyo Ri, a glacier in Everest region. Designer Ramila Nemkul and Kasa showcased the sustainable fashion line on the ramp.
Kasa also launched ‘Buddhist Fashion Line’ from the same event.

This was the first time when any designer had launched the Buddhist fashion line in the world by following the teaching of Lord Buddha, Ahimsa Parmo Dharma.
Designer Ramila Nemkul had researched for more than two years to find the fabric and had an official partnership with the Governmental Organisation, International Sericulture Organisation, an organisation of 21 countries.

Riken Maharjan of R. B. Diamond Jewellers had prepared the special design for the Sustainable show and the designs were inspired by the Himalayas and especially Mt Everest.
Riken Maharjan also presented a crown made of Nepali stone called Kyanite. Mishu had styled the models by supporting the show with its accessories. The accessories were completely sustainable and matched the Buddhist fashion line.

During the event, supermodels from 10 countries walked the ramp which was set on top of the glaciers.
The models along with the Prince of Tuscany started the trekking from Lukla on September 12 and reached the venue on September 22 to execute the highest altitude show.
The Guinness Book of World Record has recorded the new names as Pankaj K. Gupta, Ramila Nemkul, and Riken Maharjan for executing the highest altitude fashion show on land.

The official announcement and the press conference will be held after the team reaches Kathmandu on September 28, according to a statement issued by organisers on Saturday.
This programme was welcomed by the Sherpas as Mt. Everest fashion runway group was the first group to visit the Everest region after the pandemic.
Summiteer Kancha Sherpa said that these kinds of programms would help bring back tourism in the Khumbu region.
