Kathmandu, July 15: Death toll from landslides, floods and lightning triggered by continuous monsoon rains reached 117 in 33 days from June 12 to July 14, according to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA).
On July 14 alone, the Authority registered five deaths in landslides in Syangja with three deaths and one each in Tanahun and Bajura district, according to the NDRRMA disaster update at 7:30 pm.
As per the record, landslides took 98 lives, two by floods and 17 by lightning. Within these days, 46 people were still missing in the landslides and flood-related incidents that took place in various parts of the country. Also, 130 people were injured due mainly to these three types of natural disasters, according to the report.
This season, monsoon entered Nepal on June 12, delayed by two days compared to previous years.
Meanwhile, Our Syangja district correspondent, Arjun Kafle stated that three persons were killed and one went missing in a landslide that occurred at Kaligandaki Gaunpalika-4 in Syangja district on Tuesday morning.
They were buried to death while some were watching another landslide area and others fixing the rural drinking water source. The deceased were identified as Tika Bahadur Thapa, 50, Iman Singh Rana, 65, and 60-year old Jiman Singh Thapa, according to ward chairman Chakrapani Pandey.
Iman Singh Rana was former ward chairman of the previous Kaligandaki VDC. In the incident, ward member Hom Nath Pandey, 68, and 55-year old Bir Bahadur Ran were injured. The bodies were recovered later this afternoon after security bodies search fro them using excavator.
Also, in Sankhuwasabha, search for 11 people have still been going on at Silichong Gaunpalika-9. On July 11 night, homes of Man Kulung, Sandip Kulung, Juddha Bahadur Kulung, Gauri Rai, Nagamaya, Bhim Bahadur Kulung, Harkadhan Rai and Ramman Kulung, were swept away by a landslide. A 70-member search team of the security bodies have been mobilised but the bodies were not found yet.
Meanwhile, 86 displaced family members from the landslides at Silichong Gaunpalika were distributed relief goods on Tuesday. Helicopter reached the site to distribute foods for the homeless people. State-1 government had airlifted over 2,000 kg of rice, 400 kg of lentils, cooking oil 120 kg, salt 100 kg and other dry foods.
In Bajura, an elderly was buried to death at Budhinanda Municipality-3.
The deceased was identified as 72-year old Shiva Bohora, according to information officer of the District Police Office, Dan Bahadur Rokaya.
He was buried in the landslide while he was grazing cows on Monday.
An autopsy of the deceased was performed at Kolti-based primary health centre.
In Humla, standing paddy plants were destroyed by a flood at Halji of Limi in Humla district on Monday.
Ward chairman of Namkha Gaunpalika-6 Paljor Tamang said that an embankment erected last year there was also damaged by the flood.

According to police inspector Sitaram Bista except for Limi, the flood has affected over a dozen houses in Simkot, Kharpunath, Sarkegadh, Chankheli, Adaanchuli, and Tanjakot Gaunaplika.
Similarly, flood came in Limi has also partially damaged some community schools, community buildings, wooden-bridge, water mill and water canals, according to ward chairman Tamang.
