By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 21: The Ministry of Health and Population on Wednesday confirmed 2,220 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation's novel coronavirus tally to 289,787.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 2,220 new infections were recorded in 8,844 RT-PCR tests, and 131 cases were recorded via 803 antigen tests being done at health desks in various border points.
Currently, there are 10,582 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 9746 are placed in home isolation while 836 are receiving treatment in various institutional isolations. Likewise, 86 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Of the active patients, 180 are admitted to the ICU and 47 are receiving treatment with a ventilator facility.
Meanwhile, 287 COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 276,093 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 95.3 per cent.
