Lhosar, Udhauli greetings

Kathmandu, Dec. 30: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended best wishes to all Gurung sisters and brothers living at home and abroad on the occasion of Tamu Lhosar. Likewise, she also greeted the Kirat community on the occasion of their Udhauli festival.
In her separate message, she has urged to observe the festival by adopting safety measures keeping in mind the difficult situation created by COVID-19.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has also greeted the Gurung sisters and brothers on the occasion.
In his message, Prime Minister Oli has wished for the good health, happiness, peace, and prosperity to the community. He has also called such cultural festivals a mark of our national identity, harmony, and tolerance.
He also hoped that Tamu Lhosar would help promote national unity.
Similarly, President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has also wished everyone on the occasion of Tamu Lhosar, Udhauli Parva, Yomari Punhi and Dhanya Purnima and expressed confidence that they would inspire all towards peace, mutual harmony and prosperity.
Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, chairman of the National Assembly, also greeted the community and all Nepali citizens on Tamu Lhosar and requested everyone to be mindful of the current COVID-19 pandemic while celebrating.
Tamu Lhosar or Tamu Lhosar is celebrated as the New Year by the Gurung community.
