Kathmandu, July 16: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed advocate Khamma Bahadur Khati as the new Attorney General.
Issuing a press statement on Thursday, the Office of the President said, "President Bhandari has appointed Khati, who hails from Bajura, as the Attorney General."
Khati was appointed in line with Article 157 (2) of the Constitution.
The position of the chief legal advisor of the government had remained vacant following the resignation of Ramesh Badal from the post on Tuesday.
