Humla section of Karnali corridor to complete by April

Humla, Feb. 24: Nepali Army is all set to complete the construction work of Karnali corridor under Humla section by mid-April. The construction work of the corridor is going to complete in time due to continuous engagement in the project.
Work is being done in two sections of the corridor from Kabadi to Hilsha.
As the army has been given the responsibility of the work in Kalikot, Bajura and Humla sections of the corridor, the work of Humla district has reached the final stage, said chief engineer of Salisalla Road Construction Team Milan Karki.
Karki said that out of the total 39 km road in Humla section, 2 km road is still under construction.
The construction work of 27 km road from Kabadi to Balukuna has been completed and vehicles are currently plying on it.
Engineer Karki said that cutting, filling and gabion wall construction works in 10 km out of 12 km along Balukuna to Salisalla road section have been completed after opening the track. Army vehicles have been plying in the area, he said.
The army is planning to complete the construction of the road by April 2021 and hand over the project by July, 2021. At present, 300 civilians and 200 army personnel have been working on the road construction site. So far, the army's construction team has stated that Rs. 1.45 billion has been spent on the road construction.
Dal Bahadur Fadera, chairman of Adanchuli Rural Municipality, said that he has his hope that Humla will now be connected with the road network soon as the army's construction work is commendable.
