Kathmandu, Aug. 31: The government is planning to sign air transport agreements with three countries. A high-level management group meeting at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on Sunday decided to push ahead the agreement process with Indonesia, Finland and Russia.
The meeting has also decided to coordinate with the airlines companies for not charging travel fare higher than in the normal situation before the pandemic of the COVID-19. The airlines operators will be communicated about this through the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
Likewise, a four-member committee is formed in the leadership of MoCTCA Under-secretary Ram Krishna Lamichhane to monitor and facilitate the return of Nepalis from abroad.
Director of the Nepal Tourism Board Surendra Thapa, Manager of CAAN Hirajan Kafle and Manager of Nepal Tourism Board Sunil Sharma are the members of the committee.
The committee will monitor the air fare and air travel, conduct field visit to the hotels to monitor the quality and provide feedback, coordinate with the organisations like Hotel Association of Nepal and hear the grievances related to the repatriation of Nepalis.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai directed the concerned agencies to complete the projects and targets set in the annual work plan of the ministry.
