Kathmandu, Oct. 11: The government has announced public holiday on Sunday (October 13) on the occasion of the state visit of President of People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.
A cabinet meeting held on Thursday endorsed a proposal forwarded by the Ministry of Home Affairs in this regard, according to Kiran Bhattarai, press coordinator to Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal.
The government decided to give public holiday on Sunday to maintain smooth vehicular traffic during Xi’s arrival and farewell.
President Xi and General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is arriving on a two-day state visit to Nepal on Saturday evening.
Now (Friday), President Xi is on his two-day visit to India.
