Kathmandu, Aug. 3: Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal has directed the commission for the resolution of land related problems to expedite its works.
Speaking at a discussion with the members of commission and lawmakers in Lalitpur on Sunday, she inquired about its activities and overall progress. “Try to work to fulfill the objectives set while the commission was formed. Expedite your work at all required sectors,” she said.
The commission has the responsibility to find out the landless and deprived sections of people and provide them with the land ownership certificates. Minister Aryal said that it was one of the most important responsibilities of the government so all the stakeholders needed to support the commission in this drive.
Chairman of the commission Devi Gyawali also urged the concerned bodies to extend their support to the commission.
The commission is working with the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) to provide the land ownership certificates to the landless earthquake-affected families. The reconstruction body has urged the commission to initiate a process to provide the land ownership to the families, which have got permission to build their houses in the 32 quake affected districts.
