Dr. Khadka to lead high level team to NAM meeting

Kathmandu, Oct. 6: The government Tuesday decided to form a Nepali delegation led by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Narayan Khadka to participate in the Commemorative High Level Meeting of the countries participating in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to be held from October 10 to 14.
The 18th Summit of NAM was held in Baku, Azerbaijan from October 25-26 in 2019. The Summit was attended by the delegations from more than 120 countries. The 19th Summit is going to be held in Kampala of Uganda in 2023.

The government has appointed Joint Attorney Dr. Gopi Chandra Bhattarai as member of the Foreign Employment Tribunal. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the official residence of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in Baluwatar took the decision to this effect.

According to Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, who is also the spokesperson for the government, the meeting has appointed Under Secretary at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Bishnu Prasad Regmi as the member of the Debt Recovery Tribunal.

According to Minister Karki, the government has decided to approve the Employment Permit System Operation and Management First Amendment Directive-2078 and the security features mentioned in the electronic passport booklet.
Similarly, the Cabinet meeting promoted Joint Secretary Rabi Lal Pantha to the post of Secretary. A meeting of the Secretary Promotion Recommendation Committee chaired by Public Service Commission Chairman Madhav Prasad Regmi at Singha Durbar on Monday had recommended only the name of Pantha on the basis of seniority.

Although the names of three Joint Secretaries were recommended for promotion in the Cabinet meeting on the basis of performance and evaluation, only the name of Pantha was recommended on the basis of seniority.
Pantha is currently at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law of Lumbini Province.
