Bhairahawa, Dec. 7: Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday said that his party should take action against the party leaders and workers who had gone against party’s statute and had rebelled in the party.
He said the party could not secure victory in the elections without taking action against the party rebels.
Addressing the NC Municipal Committee of Siddhartha Nagar’s second municipal assembly at Bhairahawa, he stated that action had to be taken against the leaders and workers who had gone against party rules and regulation.
“No one should protect any leaders and workers who have revolted in the party. The party will suffer losses until they get punished,” he said.
He said the NC secured victory in the Dharan by-election by breaking legacy of the communist. “It is big success of the party,” he said.
NC chief Deuba said the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) secured victory in Kaski and Dang as people showed sympathy to the NC women candidates.
He appreciated the NC local committee for distributing bicycles and wheelchairs to the needy ones. He presented 44 bicycles and five wheelchairs to the local people living with poverty and with physical disabilities respectively.
NC Parliamentary Party chief-whip Bal Krishna Khand said no one could keep down the light of democracy and accused the government of trying to strip the people of their rights.
He said the NC was working for the betterment of the people even by sitting on the opposition bench, though it was a task of the government.
NC Rupandehi chair Abdul Rajjak said that the communists would never be democrats.
