COVID-19 update: 3,517 new cases, 4,096 recoveries, 16 fatalities in last 24 hours

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct. 30: With 3,517 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection confirmed on Friday, the national COVID-19 caseload has reached 168,235.

"In 14,989 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 3,517 persons, 1,361 females and 2,156 males, were found to have been infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its update.

Currently, there 38,357 are active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 31,387 are in home isolation. Some 300 COVID-19 patients are admitted to the ICU while 71 are receiving treatment with ventilator facility. A total of 2,666 persons are currently placed in quarantine.

Meanwhile, 4,096 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 128,958 cases of recoveries and the recovery rate stands at 76.7 per cent.

As many as 16 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours and with this, the national COVID-19 related death tally has reached 920.
