By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 23: With 1,980 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Monday, Nepal's COVID-19 tally has surged to 222,288.
"In 10,381 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 1,980 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection," revealed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its daily update.
Currently, there are 18,884 active cases of COVID-19 and 629 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, some 3,043 patients who were either receiving treatment in various institutional isolations or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has recorded 202,067 COVID-19 recoveries until now.
Moreover, 16 patients succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours taking the nation's COVID-19 death toll to 1,337.
