By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 27: With 1,703 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Friday, Nepal's COVID-19 tally has surged to 229,343.
"As many as 1,703 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours," revealed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its daily update.
Currently, there are 17,237 active cases of COVID-19, and 601 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, some 1,236 patients who were either receiving treatment in various institutional isolations or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has recorded 209,435 COVID-19 recoveries until now.
Moreover, 23 patients succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours taking the nation's COVID-19 death toll to 1,435.
