Constitutional bench to hear writ petitions against ordinance relating to political parties

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sep. 17: Hearing on writ petitions filed against ordinance relating to political parties (second amendment) has been scheduled for today in the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court (SC).

A total of six writ petitions were filed in the SC against the ordinance relating to political parties which was brought into force to ease party split.

According to SC spokesperson Baburam Dahal, the hearing over writ petitions was being held in the constitutional bench comprising of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana and Justices Dipak Kumar Karki, Mira Khadka, Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada, and Aananda Mohan Bhattarai.

The writ petition has demanded to revoke the ordinance issued by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on August 18.
