Kathmandu, Oct 12: Chinese President Xi Jinping held bilateral talks with his Nepali counterpart Bidya Devi Bhandari at the Office of the President in Sheetal Niwas on Saturday evening.
During the meeting, President Xi discussed issues of mutual interest, the Office of the President said.
After the meeting with Bhandari, the Chinese President is scheduled to hold meeting with Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Following the meeting with Deuba, Xi will participate in a dinner reception to be hosted by President Bhandari.
Xi had gone to the Office of the President in Sheetal Niwas from Soltee Crown Plaza Hotel in Kathmandu.
Earlier, President Bhandari had received Xi at Tribhuvan International Airport.
Similarly, Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, deputy prime ministers and cabinet ministers had welcomed President Xi at the airport and his delegation.
The Chinese president has arrived here wrapping up his two-day informal talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held in Chennai, the southern city of India.
President Xi will hold bilateral meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday morning when signing of the bilateral agreements will take place.
The visiting President will meet Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
He is scheduled to return home on Sunday afternoon.
