Chinese President will start his two-day Nepal visit on Saturday

Kathmandu, Oct 9: Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to pay a two-day state visit to Nepal on October 12 and 13.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Wednesday that President Xi would come to Nepal on a two-day state visit at the invitation of President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
“At the friendly invitation of President of Nepal, Right Honourable Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari, the President of the People’s Republic of China His Excellency Mr. Xi Jinping is paying a state visit to Nepal on 12 and 13 October 2019,” read a press statement issued by the Ministry.
According to the statement, President Xi would meet with his counterpart Bhandari and she would host a banquet in honour of Xi and the Chinese delegation.
Similarly, President Xi will hold delegation level talks with Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli.
Following the talks, both leaders will witness the signing of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding, the statement added.
During the visit, Nepal’s top leaders will call on President Xi in Kathmandu.

President Xi will directly fly to Kathmandu on Saturday afternoon from Chennai after concluding his two-day India visit.
Xi and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be meeting at Mamallapuram near Chennai on October 11 and 12 for the second ‘informal summit’ after the Wuhan Summit in April last year.
According to Xinhua news agency, the Chinese President will attend the second informal meeting with Modi and pay a state visit to Nepal from October 11 to 13 at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Modi and Nepali President Bhandari.
