Surkhet, Oct 8: Chief Minister of Karnali State, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, said on Tuesday that the state government was committed to fulfilling the responsibility of building a prosperous province.
Issuing a message of best wishes on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami, Tihar and Chhath festivals, the Chief Minister wished may the festivals, including Bijaya Dashami, inspire all to fulfill the commitment of 'Prosperous Karnali, Happy Karnali Folks.'
He reiterated that the state government had been successful in building the foundation of Karnali's development, prosperity and public service delivery within a short time despite of the lack of administrative structure, laws, human resources and experience. Chief Minister Shahi added that important works have been carried out like the formulation of the required laws, the province organizational structure and setting up of province offices, emergency rescue and relief and insurance scheme for all citizens.
Stating that they have been successful in carrying out some optimistic works like completion of the feasibility study for the construction of the Jamunaha-Hilsa fast track, with Chinese support, he urged the people not to celebrate the festivals in an extravagant manner, rather make them an occasion for family gathering and fostering social goodwill.
