Hetauda, Dec. 6: Senior leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the loss the party suffered in the areas considered the communist stronghold is a warning sign to the party.
Addressing a training programme organised at Manahari in Makawanpur District on Friday, the former Prime Minister said that the by-election results were a threat to Bhaktapur, Dharan and Chitwan.
"We have won in Pokhara, but celebrating the win in these areas is not sufficient," said Nepal.
He expressed his belief that all the tasks undertaken for the party unity would be evaporated following a review of the by-elections at the Standing Committee meeting which is due to be held within a few days. In the Standing Committee meeting, the agenda of forming NCP Politburo Committee would be realised, he said credible.
He said that if the unity between the then CPN-Maoist-Centre and the CPN-UML could not be completed, the CPN could fall behind.
Stating that a Politburo Committee would be formed by preparing a certain criteria , he said that the party would soon launch programmes like Mechi Mahakali Awakening and Village Awakening, he said.
He also observed that the two wards of Rapti, which were shifted to across the Rapti when the cabinet meeting decided to move the settlement in June 2010 during his premiership.
