Kathmandu, Sept. 27:The Committee formed to study the border issue between Nepal and China submitted its report to the government on Sunday.

Jaya Narayan Acharya, Joint Secretary and coordinator of the Committee formed to study the border issue from Limi Lapcha to Hilsa, submitted the report to Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand at the Ministry.
Accepting the report, Minister for Home Affairs Khand said that he would take initiative to implement the report submitted by the Committee.

“This report has paved the way for a study of the boundaries in other places as well,” Joint Secretary and spokesperson for the Ministry Phadindra Mani Pokhrel quoted Minister Khand as saying.

The Cabinet had formed a committee on September 1 to study the border issue. Sushil Dangol, Deputy Director General of the Survey Department, SSP Umesh Raj Joshi of the Nepal Police, SSP Pradip Kumar Pal of the Armed Force Nepal and Kishwore Kumar Shrestha, Joint Director of the National Investigation Department, were members of the Committee.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry this evening, the committee has recommended to take the issue through bilateral relations, members of the joint border inspection group, joint expert group and joint inspection committee formed bilaterally.

The report has also mentioned that the report was prepared based on field observation, inspection, interaction with the stakeholders and locals of the region.
Minister Khand also thanked the committee members for drafting the report despite geographical difficulties.
