Butwal, Dec 8 (RSS):
Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport, Basanta Kumar Nembang, has warned of action to the contractors if they failed to accomplish development activities in time. For this, the projects left in lurch would be identified and contractors grilled, he added.
After inspecting various development activities as construction of bridges and roads in Rupandehi district today, Minister Nembang reiterated that the contractors delaying projects and avoiding responsibilities would have their agreement broken.
Government has taken seriously the delayed construction of Lumbini-Bhairahawa roadway in the wake of Visit Year 2020, he said, directing all concerned to finish at least blacktopping of one way Bhairahawa-Lumbini road by the end of December. "The tourists visiting Lumbini in Visit Year 2020 must not be hassled for inconvenience of transport," he stressed.
The construction of two river bridges along the road would be built even by assigning another contractor, he made it clear. The bridges would be of two lanes.
According to the Minister, detailed project report (DPR) of tunnel construction at Siddhababa area was completed and tender notice for construction will be issued within a month.
On the occasion, Secretary at the Ministry, Devendra Karki, said monopoly in transport was scrapped and government was effortful to make public transport more systematic.
Similarly, Director General at Road Department, Keshav Kumar Sharma, informed that the detailed project report for the road in west Butwal and guarantee of investment would be ensured within this year.
