By Mukunda Gaire, Kathmandu, Mar. 21: At least 61 people who had landed today at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) today have been sent to the Kharipati-based quarantine.

As they had entered Nepal from Covid-19 affected countries, they were sent to the Kharipati quarantine, said Ishwar Poudel, Director General of the Department of Immigration.

Poudel said that although they were sent to the quarantine, no symptom of Covid-19 was detected on them.

They were brought to Kathmandu through Thai Airways and Indian Airways by overlooking the directives issued by the Nepal government, said Sagar Acharya, an employee of the Immigration Department at the TIA.

Also, Humkala Pandey, Chief District Officer (CDO) of Bhaktapur district confirmed that all the 63 persons were sent to the quarantine at Kharipati, which had been vacant after the Wuhan-returned Nepali students were freed from it.
