Kathmandu, Sept. 27: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Saturday confirmed 834 new cases of COVID-19, of which 730 were detected through PCR tests and 104 through antigen tests.
The nationwide COVID-19 tally through PCR method reached 791,392 and that through antigen reached 90,547.
Of the total 13,736 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 8,589 were Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) while 5,147 were antigen tests, informed the MoHP.

According to the MoHP, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 279 new infections over that period. Of these, 232 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 23 in Bhaktapur and 24 in Lalitpur.
According to the MoHP data, nine districts, including Morang, Jhapa, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Makawanpur, Kaski and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each and 20 other districts have more than 200 active cases each.

The active caseload has further declined to 19,142 on Sunday. Of the active cases, 1,329 patients are admitted to various health facilities while the remaining 17,813 are in home isolation.
As per the latest update, 368 COVID-19 patients are admitted to the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) while 120 are under treatment with ventilator support throughout the nation.
Meanwhile, 1,279 COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection during that period. Nepal has now recorded 761,154 cases of recovery.

The country also reported nine deaths related to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 11,096. The recovery rate of COVID-19 has reached 96.18 per cent, active case stands at 2.42 per cent and death rate is 1.40 per cent, as of today.

The MoHP informed that of the 71.6 per cent target population, 6,609,233 (30.4 per cent) people had received their first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 and that 6,036,401 (27.7 per cent) had received their full dose as of Sunday.

In total, 102,301 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours. These days, the government is administering AstraZeneca and Vero Cell vaccines.
