By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 19: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed 159 new cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley today.
In 11,522 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 159 persons, 54 females and 114 males, were found with the virus infection in the Valley itself, informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.
Of the 159 new cases of virus infection, 134 persons including 45 females and 99 males were detected with the SARS-CoV-2 infection in Kathmandu. Likewise, 17 persons including seven females and 10 males were found with the virus infection in Lalitpur and eight cases of COVID-19 including two females and six males were identified in Bhaktapur.
Meanwhile, 681 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection were detected across the nation on Wednesday, taking the national caseload to 28,938 including 17,700 cases of recovery and 120 death cases.
