By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar. 18: The Ministry of Health and Population on Thursday confirmed 107 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation's novel coronavirus tally to 275,625.

"In 3,254 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 107 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed the Ministry of Health and Population in the regular press briefing.

Currently, there are 1,000 active cases of COVID-19, and a total of 52 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad are placed in quarantine across the nation.

Meanwhile, 60 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 271,610 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.5 per cent.

Moreover, one COVID-19 related fatality was recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the nation's COVID-19 death toll to 3,015.
