By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May. 14: The COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) Secretariat has handed over the responsibility of distributing oxygen cylinders in the Kathmandu Valley to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
The CCMC had taken over the task to distribute oxygen cylinders from the Health Ministry four days earlier.
Issuing a notice on Friday, the Centre informed that the MoHP would hand out oxygen cylinders from now on, citing that the process of distribution was complicated.
In a span of three days from May 10 to 12, CCMC had distributed 17,341 oxygen cylinders to various hospitals across the valley.
Nurahari Khatiwada, assistant spokesperson of the CCMC secretariat, said that decision had been made to give the task of supplying oxygen cylinders to the Health Ministry.
Earlier, CCMC had taken the responsibility to distribute oxygen cylinders to ensure that the Valley doesn’t face a shortage of oxygen in the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
