Government to procure 900,000 COVID testing kits

Kathmandu, Jan 18: The government is stepping up to procure 900,000 testing kits to increase the testing citing a rise in the COVID-19 cases in the country.

According to Dr Rudra Marasini, Director of the Management Division under the Department of Health Services (DoHS), the government has started the process of buying 600,000 more Polymerase Chain Reaction tests (PCR) and 300,000 antigen testing to increase the area of testing.

He said that the rise in COVID-19 cases has called a need to increase the area of testing as well.
