In 14,672 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the past 24 hours, 4,364 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed the Health Ministry in its daily update.
Likewise, out of 1,009 antigen tests done in the 24 hours, the virus infection was detected in 160 people.
Currently, there are 26,225 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 2,873 are receiving treatment in institutional isolation and 23,352 are in home isolation. Likewise, people mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Of the active patients, 315 are admitted to the ICU and 84 are under treatment with ventilator facility.
Meanwhile, 555 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 278,506 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 90.5 per cent.
Moreover, 18 COVID-19 related fatalities were confirmed across the nation in the last 24 hours. The nation's COVID-19 death toll is at 3,194.
