By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 25: The Ministry of Health and Population on Sunday confirmed 3,032 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation's novel coronavirus tally to 300,119.
In 9,292 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 3,032 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson at the Health Ministry in the regular press briefing.
Likewise, out of 786 antigen tests done in the 24 hours, the virus infection was detected in 90 people.
Currently, there are 19,382 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 1,594 are receiving treatment in institutional isolation and 17,788 are in home isolation. Likewise, 69 people mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Of the active patients, 252 are admitted to the ICU and 65 are under treatment with ventilator facility.
Meanwhile, 450 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 277,573 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 92.6 per cent.
