By Madhusudan Timilsina, Kavre, Mar. 26: A 62-year-old male of Bigu Rural Municipality in Dolaha succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection on Thursday.

He was admitted to Dhulikhel Hospital on March 24 after having some difficulties in breathing.

Sanu Krishna Shrestha, chief of the emergency ward at Dhulikhel Hospital said, "The patient breathed his last on Thursday afternoon at around 12:00 pm. His COVID-19 test report, which came out today revealed that he was infected with the virus."

Following the fatality, the district command post has requested the hospital administration to opt for more security. Meanwhile, the hospital said that all the safety protocols were being followed without disturbing the services.

Moreover, health administrator Dr. Narendra Kumar Jha has requested all local levels to prepare with high alertness in order to prevent the possible spread of the virus.

As of Friday, Kavre district has recorded a total of 3,375 cases of COVID-19 and 75 fatalities. Likewise, 23,635 people have been vaccinated in the district and currently, there are seven active cases of COVID-19 in Kavre. All of them are placed in home isolation.
