With 16 death cases, Nepal records highest daily fatalities from COVID-19, death toll reaches 427

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept. 21: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Monday confirmed COVID-19 related deaths. This is the highest number of fatalities confirmed in Nepal in a single day.

"Some 16 persons, three females and 13 males, succumbed to the virus infection in the last 24 hours," revealed the daily report released by the MoHP today.

A 72-year-old male of Jhapa, a 49-year-old male of Sunsari, an 88-year-old male of Parsa, two males aged 84 and 62 of Bhaktapur, two males aged 58 and 73 of Kathmandu, a 17-year-old female and a 68-year-old male of Makwanpur, a 58-year-old female and a 61-year-old male of Lalitpur, a 55-year-old male of Chitwan, a 52-year-old female of Dolakha, a 67-year old male of Rupandehi and two males aged 50 and 59 of Banke, who were infected with the novel coronavirus, died while receiving treatment at various health facilities across the nation.

With this, Nepal's COVID-19 death toll has reached 427 and the death rate stands at 0.7 per cent.
